Heirloom Technology, Reimagined
Heirloom Technology, Reimagined — This collection began with the development of the Stone Pepper Mill. The concept was to scale down traditional grain mills to grind pepper. Knowing that grain mills create a consistent and powerful output, we believed applying it to pepper would achieve similar results. And it did. Using natural granite mill stones, we found that the mill stones only became smoother with use due to the natural oils released by the peppercorns, creating a product that only improves with time.

Behind the Collection
Our designers have combined traditional forms with unexpected features. Designer Maddy Busch describes her inspiration behind the Perch Mortar and Pestle, "I wanted to play with adding lightness to such a traditionally heavy piece, so I designed the mortar to cantilever over the base to give the effect that it's floating." Another example of this approach is reflected in the Stash Salt Cellar design. Rather than trying to hide the hinge mechanism, our designers emphasized the hinge through robust metal accents. This design feature also offers a functional advantage by creating a tab for lifting the lid with knuckles when hands are messy.
Fluid Motion — We wanted to try a new and more gentle way of aerating wine, rather than the traditional approach of forcefully exposing it to air. Which led us to cascade the wine down a metal sphere. Not only did we find this to be highly effective in improving the aroma and flavor of the wine, but it also created a delicate visual.

To complete our product collection, we sought to enhance everyday items with subtle improvements. The Teeter Carafe is made of thin yet durable hand-blown glass, featuring a rim that arcs liquid for a pleasant, drip-free pour. Our Puddle Coasters, made with heavyweight stainless steel, are another example, designed with a shallow lip that contains drips and an anti-slip pad to protect surfaces and dampen sound. Lastly, we have elevated the traditional citrus press by developing a four-bar linkage that improves leverage to effortlessly squeeze lemons and limes. We also selected high-quality stainless steel and chrome-plated die-cast metal to ensure long-lasting durability.
